The School Council recently asked children to take part in an art and poetry competition with a Valentine’s Day theme. We were delighted with the number of entries that we received and we thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone’s work.

As always, the School Council members were the judges of the competition entries and so difficult was it to choose our 4 winners overall, we actually had to give some extra recognition to x8 runners-up, each of whom were given a special certificate.

Winners overall were as follows:

Reception Class:               Maisie

Year 1/2:                              Grace

Year 3/4:                              Robbie

Year 5/6:                              Leah

valentine poems

These children were awarded with a prize of felt -pens and a mosaic making kit.

Our runners-up, who received a special certificate, were:

Millie (reception), Tess (reception), Saanvi (Year 1), Sophie (Year 2), Isabelle (Year 3), Sarika (Year 4), Ben (Year 5) and Lucy (Year 6)

There was an additional award given to Harry in Year 1 who wrote a lovely ‘Roses are Red’ poem – it goes like this:

Roses are red,

Carnations are pink.

I love you

Even more than you think…

Super work, Harry!

Well done and thank you to all of the children who entered the competition– and massive thanks to the School Council for their efforts too. Poems will be posted soon.
