We were honoured to be the very first school to be visited by the artists on the Success Tour today.  Acts were introduced by radio presenter Lisa Shaw and included a young lady from Hartlepool, Elena Larkin, followed by a group called North Road.

The event is not called ‘The Success Tour’ for nothing!  Lisa did a fantastic job talking to the children about what success is and how we have to work hard to achieve it.  Between songs, the children had the opportunity to ask the artists questions and find out what inspired them to keep working to achieve their goals.  The discussion tied in beautifully with our work on the Seven Learning Values that we have recently introduced at Fellside – and the children demonstrated that they remembered all of them today!

North Road

North Road gave us a fantastic set to dance to – with a great mix of covers and some of their own music.  Elena gained fans for life when she sang everyone’s favourite, ‘Let it Go’ from Frozen and she entertained us hugely with ‘The Cup Song’ from Pitch Perfect.  The children could not help but be inspired.

Our thanks go to Lee, who organised the tour, and to everyone from Ginger Music.

Finally, I must mention the children, who were all amazing today!  They had so much fun but still managed to behave impeccably, listen carefully at appropriate points and participate fantastically well in our discussions.

A message to all of the other schools who have booked the tour – you’re in for a treat!
