Today, Friday 15th January Year 5 had a special visitor in their R.E. lesson. Kirtida, a priest from ISKCON Newcastle, came into class to talk to the children about her Hindu faith.
The class thoroughly enjoyed listening to Hindu music, exploring artifacts from the temple and even trying on some typical Hindu clothing. They asked an awful lot of questions (some of which were quite challenging to answer!) and demonstrated their excellent listening and natural curiosity. At the end of the lesson Kirtida performed a traditional prayer and blessing for the children.
Today’s experience has developed the children’s knowledge of the Hindu faith and day-to-day customs. Thank you very much to Kirtida for such a brilliant workshop!
