We drew some of the fireworks we saw at the weekend on some black paper outside, with the chalks.

We talked about some of the noises the fireworks made and wrote them down.

We made some rockets and practised learning our shapes.

This child wrote ‘wee’ all by herself!

Attempting to write ‘smash’.

This child said the fireworks went ‘boom’!

Trying to write ‘bang’ all by themselves!

Another child, keen to write ‘bang’.

Our finished fireworks display!

The children pretended the sticks were fireworks and sparklers! They made the noises as they pretended to light them and watch them in the sky!

Standing around the ‘bonfire’ with our ‘sparklers’. This child told me to hold the sparkler very carefully and that I needed my gloves on!
