Netball isn’t usually a sport that takes centre-stage in Primary Schools, but at Fellside we aim to give the children as well-rounded an experience of sport as possible in preparation for the move to secondary school.
Years 3 and 4 have relished the opportunity to learn a new sport this half term and have made exceptional progress in just two weeks. Our coach has focused on the major rules of netball (no moving with the ball and keeping a good defence space) and taught new skills such as shooting and overhead passing.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed their first sessions and will next be working on how a game is played. It has been lovely to watch their skills and teamwork grow and Miss Watson and Mrs Wendt look forward to seeing this sport grow into another Fellside favourite!
