Thanks to all the parents of the Reception class for giving Mrs Parker a wonderful send off. She read out her cards and opened her lovely presents so that we could all share in the surprise. Mrs Parker also gave her own present to the class – a lovely play-dough cake and ice cream set. We have already had fun using it, thank you.
Not to miss out on our learning, we discussed what gas was in the floating balloons and why they weren’t floating up into space, named the shapes of the presents and described their properties and described the different flowers in her lovely bouquet. We also cut out symmetrical hearts by folding paper in half and wrote messages which Mrs Parker enjoyed reading. To end the day we let one of the balloons float up into space and made a wish.
We will all miss her but wish her all the best in her new school.
