The Reception class enjoyed pond dipping this week. We took advantage of the nice weather to go to the school pond and find out what creatures were living there.
We observed the creatures carefully and then tried to match them to the pictures on the identification chart. We found most of the creatures including water boatmen, pond snails and tadpoles, but no frogs or toads this time.
In the classroom our tadpoles have already grown into froglets and have been sitting on the rock to breathe the air. We have been feeding them some greenflies but what else do they like to eat? Can you find out?
