The first of our elections for the new school year took place on the afternoon of Thursday 13th September when our would-be-House-Captains gave pledges and speeches to try to win votes from fellow members of their House.  30 children from Years 5 and 6 gave pledges with an aim to be elected to one of just 8 roles available.  It was a hard won contest where, in some cases, there was just a single vote to split the victor from the runner up.  After we had excitedly heard all of the speeches, children all cast their vote for one girl and one boy for the role of House Captains for our 4 House Teams.  After counting votes – and checking and double checking – the successful candidates were as follows:

Alnwick House:               Hannah P and Wil P

Bamburgh House           Rachel and Hayden

Lindisfarne House          Laura and Charlie

Warkworth House:          Caitlin and Alex

These children were delighted to be awarded with their House Captain badges today.  I know they will wear them with great pride.  Here are some pictures of the voting in action!
