Year 5 were so excited to begin their training to become Playground Leaders.
We welcomed our trainer from the School Sports Partnership who talked to us about the importance of the Playground Leader scheme to help younger pupils in our school learn about friendship, health and sport in a fun and engaging way. Then, we learned and practised some of the games that we could lead with Key Stage 1 pupils starting after the half term break. We learned essential skills for leadership such as planning, communication and begin aware of health and safety needs.
We then worked in teams to lead games with Year 3 pupils. They gave us excellent feedback and we’re so excited to begin our new roles as leaders in the next few weeks!
