For their latest DT project, the children in Year Four have made these beautiful wooden lamps. The began by accurately measuring their wooden dowel before learning how to safely saw it using a vice and hacksaw. They cut their sixteen sections and sanded down the rough edges. They then glued their frames together to make a cuboid and painted them black. To create a stained glass effect, the children used acetate, tissue paper and glue to design a paper mache effect in a selection of bright colours. These were then trimmed to size and connected to the frames. The overall effect created when you place a battery operated candle inside is beautiful.
Well done Year Four. You all worked indelibly sensibly and demonstrated many of our seven Cs when learning lots of new skills.
