To celebrate 50 years since the first moon landing of Apollo 11, we have been talking all about the moon. We discussed what it is, what it looks like and how the astronauts took 3 days to get to the moon and then use The Eagle Command Module to move onto the surface of the moon. Their footprints are still there and they left a flag, a gold broach, a badge of Apollo 1 and their backpacks behind.
We decided to make our own rocket using water and fizzy tablets. We shook the tablets in the bottle then watched it fly up into the air! We experimented to see which worked better, hot or cold water. Hot water definitely made it go higher although it didn’t quite reach the moon!
