For four days in March (Tuesday 23rd – Friday 26th) Year Two had lots of fun and learned new skills when they worked with an artist, Shirley Wells on a willow sculpture of an Indian bride. Lots of mums and grans helped too ! This is what we did:
Planning the designs for the bride’s dress. Choosing some designs for the dress.
Cutting the willow to the right size. Starting to make the hoops.
Bending the willow. We’re very proud of our hoop!
Making the structure. Covering the tissue paper with glue.
Adding the tissue paper to the structure. Nearly covered !
Painting over the tissue paper. Painting designs onto an acetate tile.
Printing onto the sari. Adding the designs on the dress
