Welcome to Year 3,

Year Three is a significant year as children leap from Key Stage One into Key Stage Two, continuing their journey through our school . This year is going to be full of fun, exciting and interesting topics as children become more independent and continue to embrace challenges. They will become confident, resilient learners as we grow throughout the year together.

Some of the fantastic things we get to learn about in History are the Stone Age and the Romans. Children get to learn how to play the violin with Miss Tym in Music. In Design and Technology, we make phone covers in Textiles while in Food Tech we make a healthy sandwich. In Science, we learn about the human body, specifically bones and muscles and within Plants we grow our own cress within an investigation. In computing, we make invitations with desktop publisher and learn how to use branching databases. In PE, we cover lots of sports from Handball to Badminton, Hockey to Gymnastics. Fingers crossed we will be able to perform in the Gateshead Dance Festival this year too!

 There are many great opportunities for us to learn and conquer together.
