It was so warm in the woods yesterday – you would think it a summer day rather than autumn! Reception thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Matfen Woods, searching for autumn treasure and creating an autumn crown. The workshop was led by Jess from Teaching Trees who discussed why trees are so important. The children impressed her with their developing knowledge of tree identification and seasonal change. We are already looking forward to our next trip to a different woods, Kirkley in spring.
